Invitation for a Special Adventure

Alexandra Tourret

I am 28 yrs old and working with dogs is something I have always dreamed of doing. I set up my own business as soon as I left University after getting my degree in Animal Behavioural Science and Welfare and also a Dog grooming qualification. Nyx, my Border Collie, is my first dog and I wouldn’t be where I am today if I hadn’t made that decision to get him. He is the most amazing dog and we have accomplished so much together.
Koda, my Australian Shepherd, joined us 5yrs ago and we truly are a team to be reckoned with. He made it to Crufts after doing one Championship Show and that was another very proud man moment. I don’t go anywhere without them and any activity water or land based I will find a way to get them involved (if it is possible) because I have more fun if my dogs are with me.

Author of the book Adventure Dogs and Managing Director of Flawless Paws Ltd

Adventure Dogs

So the book, Adventure Dogs, has been another passion of mine. I love getting my dogs out on adventures. Taking them out to new places, new environments and watching them explore and enjoy the world truly makes me happy. As an owner I love being able to provide that for them. So I wanted to be able to share that experience with other owners.
I have always loved being by or on or in the water and it is a love that has been shared by my dogs. Whenever we have a free day from work I will take them to the beach or a river or lake and have some fun.

So using my dog training knowledge I took a whole load of common water based activities that owners could do with their dogs, no matter what breed they had. I broke the training down into nice bite size chunks and then added pictures of my dogs doing it all. I think some families are worried about including their dogs on these activities because they are too worried or think their dog may find it stressful. But if the dog is introduced to everything slowly they can enjoy these activities with you and you won’t need to leave them behind.

Furthermore...

I would recommend the book to anyone who enjoys getting out with their dogs, trying new things. Dogs by nature are inquisitive and outgoing all I would suggest is that you encourage that!

The book contains how to guides on: Canoeing, Kayaking, Kayak sailing,

Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP), SUP kayaking, SUP kiting, Windsurfing, Surfing, Sailing dinghy, Motorised crafts, Yacht, Small boats, Jetski, Electric surfboard, Dock jumping, River trekking, Scrambling, Coasteering, Wild swimming.

Also includes many others sections on why water and swimming is great for your dogs health and what basic obedience your dog will need to get started.

Benefits of reading the book...

After reading and applying the knowledge learnt from the easy to follow guides you will, hopefully, be able to take your dog out on all of your adventures and be able to tackle whatever comes your way.

You will find that as you begin working more with your dog and challenging them to different activities your bond and relationship will improve.

Their fitness and yours will also be impacted for the better.
